LCSW Clinical Social Work Supervisor
I am a clinical supervisor who is far enough way from graduation to have actionable recommendations for a variety of high intensity clinical situations, but I'm close enough to readily identify with the challenges new clinical social workers commonly experience.
I favor and have training in Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, Theraplay, and Solution-focused brief therapy, but have no certifications. My current role is in Pediatric medical social work, and I use the above techniques frequently while focused on short-term, health psychology contexts: everything from "typical" family conflict to medical plan adherence to suicidal ideation to abuse/neglect and other forms of trauma.
Additionally, I have experience in Adoption Preservation therapy including addressing a variety of issues including core adoption issues, trauma history, family conflict, oppositional behavior and teen specific issues and interventions.
