Cynthia Deblanc

Clinical Social Work-Therapist

First of all I'd like to report that since July, 2011 I am a preferred provider on Value Options and Blue Cross Blue Shiel Insurance Carriers. I have worked with hundred's of clients of all ages over the past thirty years, suffering with depression, anxiety, grief, post traumatic stress, eating disorders (including obesity and the use of bariatric surgery), family problems, fertility, and major life disappointments. I believe that in your choice of an ideal therapist, the most crucial components would not only be expertise but feeling empathy, trust, comfort and truly and deeply understood. You are a complex individual and what I have to offer you is not a bit of advice. You get advice from all those around you; friends, mates, relatives. Rather, I can reflect to you what I see that you may not see in yourself, that which is causing your mirror to appear foggy, to have misjudged yourself. Together we will identify what long held belief systems may be inaccurately and unfairly distorting your vision of yourself.

I have presented at national conferences on Family and Women's Issues as well as Eating Disorders. I have worked in both in-patient and out-patient settings. I have been in training with the pioneers of the Family Therapy Movement in Wash., D.C. and with Masters and Johnson. I am thankful for all the clients who have trusted me and honored me with the profound and individual stories of their lives. Please call or leave a text at 504 352 1991 . Thank you.

I was one of the founders of and worked at The Weight Management Center for ten years doing evaluations and therapy with thousands of clients suffering from weight and body image issues.I began as a teacher and love working with adolescents and young adults trying to find their way. I have also been an adjunct professor at Tulane's School of Social Work. If what I have to offer seems to fit with what you need, e-mail me for a free consultation.
